Diwali is Delhi's loudest festival and its most demanding to shop for. Markets from Sadar Bazaar to Lajpat Nagar to Kamla Nagar are packed for a week, and every household is doing Lakshmi-Ganesh puja on the same evening at roughly the same muhurat. Older neighbourhoods like Chandni Chowk, Karol Bagh and CR Park have their own Diwali rhythm; newer ones in Dwarka and Rohini lean on society celebrations. Anything you can get out of the way early, you should.
